Three Peaks, One Purpose
On Thursday 27th August, Jo, Amanda and Dorina from the Hestia team took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Three peaks, 24 miles and nearly 12 hours on their feet, with thunderstorms in the forecast and a bum bag full of jelly babies to keep spirits up.
They did it for BREAKOUT, Hestia's charity partner, and a cause the team believes in wholeheartedly.
A charity built different by design
BREAKOUT is an incredible young charity. It supports young people through mentoring, guidance and opportunities that help them build confidence, resilience and brighter futures. Its work helps young people break out of the labels and systems that too often limit what their futures can look like.
People are at the heart of everything we do. The team sees every day what happens when people feel supported, trusted and given the chance to grow. BREAKOUT does exactly that for young people, offering scaffolding and support at the moments when life is putting up walls. Standing behind the charity felt like the most natural thing in the world.
Every step counted
Jo, Amanda and Dorina made it to the end, with seriously tired legs. Thanks to the generosity of the community around them, at work and at home, they raised £1,500 for BREAKOUT, double their original target.
Every penny will help BREAKOUT create more opportunities for more young people. The Hestia team is hugely grateful to everyone who donated and backed them every step of the way.
